I was born in Bolsward, in the North part of the Netherlands. My parents are from the island of Texel, also in the Netherlands. 
Our Son Fabian lives in Taiwan, Changhua,  and surprised me by organizing an exibition in Sokoso Coffee shop, when we visited Taiwan in october 2025. 

When I was 7 years old, our family returned to Texel, and I grew up there. Since 1983 I live in the beautiful city of Delft.

I have been drawing and painting all my life. Because I feel free to work with pencil and brush.

Fear of a bad result is something I don't know.
My motto is as my maternal grandmother said: "the result will be what will be"

Drawing and painting ? I just did it. 
Many afternoons we sat around the dining room table with our creative family, and I watched the art my elder sisters and brothers and parents made. 

I mainly paint with watercolor paint, quite smoothly, and also like to work outside.

Drawing landscape is a good exercise,   I regularly participate with"Urban Sketching" activities.
